The aim of the course is to familiarize students with the political developments that took place in Europe from the end of the Middle Ages to the French Revolution. Religious wars, economic changes, political developments, reforms, social structures, the rise of new ideologies and enlightenment are at the heart of the course. The course contents students to:– identify and understand key themes and concepts in European history of the 17th and the 18th century – understand and explain the relationship between intellectual, political and social trends – critically analyze primary and secondary sources.
